19th C. Miniature Watercolor Portrait Of Napoleon After Delaroche
Presented for sale is an early 19th c. watercolor miniature three quarters portrait of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte after the famous full figured painting done by Paul Delaroche. The portrait is finely executed and signed by the artist. The portrait shows a tired and defeated looking Napoleon, his hair unruly and his coat thrown over his shoulders.
The painting is set into a brass fillet which if fitted into a wooden walnut frame. The fillet fits loosely into the wooden frame, and the wooden frame does exhibit some wear and discoloration. The portrait is in very good condition.
Size of Frame: 5 ¾" Height by 4 ½" Width
Size of Image: 3 ½" Height by 2 ½" Width.
