19th C. Oil On Board Full Length Portrait Of Woman

Offered for sale is a 18th/19th century oil painting on board of an elegant full-figured 18th century French woman strolling in her garden. The background is dark in contrast to the blue of her gown and the luminescent quality of her skin. Her hair is worn in the upswept style of women found in the French courts of Marie Antoinette, topped with a Mop cap.

The painting is illegibly signed (Buvien? Bouvier?) and is in very good condition, set into a gilded carved frame. The frame has visible restoration and some damage.
