19th C. Double Stacked British Colonial Campaign Chest

Presented for sale is a late 19th century English two-part original Campaign chest of mahogany woods. The chest is fitted with flush brass pulls, and brass corner brackets. The top chest is configured with top half drawers over one long drawer; the base is fitted with two long drawers. Each drawer has locking escutcheons (although there is no key) and the locks are impressed with the name of the manufacturer, G. Harley & C. W. Hampton. denoting a British army issue piece.

The chest rests on ogee bracket feet and is in excellent age consistent condition. Campaign furniture is sought after for its rich history and simple elegance, this chest is a beautiful example.
