19th C. French Empire Commode or Chest With Black Marble Top

Presented for sale is an elegant late 19th century French Empire revival chest or commode surmounted with a black marble top. The top is stamped "Made in France," the interior built with dovetail construction. The commode is fitted with an overhanging top drawer supported with columns over three long drawers, each with locking mechanisms under the escutcheons. It is further enhanced with bronze mounts.

The commode is a desirable petite size making it perfect for a bedside table or small entrance hall. It is in excellent age-related condition with minimal wear to the wood surfaces, and a chip from a corner of the marble top.

Size: 33 ½" Height by 30 ½" Width by 15 ½" Depth.
