We are offering this elegant late 19th century Louis XV style French inlaid commode. The commode features a breche d'alep fitted marble top surmounting a block front shaped carcass with three graduating drawers. The drawers are superbly inlaid with a sumptuous floral basket flanked with diamond quilting and set off with banding. The commode is enhanced with finely chiseled bronze mounts.
This is a Paris piece, handmade with mortise and dowel construction and formalized with bronze mounts. Its rather petite size makes it perfect for a smaller wall or entrance hall. The commode is in excellent condition with a veneer split to one side typical of older Continental pieces of this age, however, the inlay and mounts are original and intact.
Size: 35" Height by 40 ½" Width by 20 ½" Depth.
