Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vases, Meiji Period (1868 – 1912)

Presenting a superb matched pair of baluster form 19th century Meiji period Satsuma vases. The vases are decorated in exquisite raised multi-colored enamels highlighted in heavy gilt. The scenes depict Samurai in the foreground with flowers and clouds in the background.

The vases are in excellent condition with a fine crazing to the surface found on most old Satsuma wares. These are a matched pair and would be splendid facing each other on a mantle or shelf.

Size: 15 ½" Height.
