Luigi Kasimir Original Signed Etching, St. Moritz, Switzerland
Luigi Kasimir has been one of the most collected 20th century printmakers and needs no introduction. He was born to a family of artists in the town of Pettau and attended the Vienna Academy of Art. He was a student of William Unger who introduced him to the technique of colored etchings. Kasimir was one of the first artists to develop the technique of multi-plate colored etchings. The color was applied by hand using four to six plates, a painstaking process that produced sharper images and brighter colors.
The etching is pencil signed by the artist; not "estate signed" as are many printings that were produced after his death. The etching is matted and framed and in very good condition.
Size of Image: 14” Height x 13 ½” Width.
