Presented for sale is a lovely late 19th century Meissen porcelain bowl in lozenge form. The reticulated border features grape leaves and vines in raised relief stepped up with gilding. The center of the bowl is decorated with hand painted floral sprigs.
Meissen has been known as the "white gold" of porcelain since the 18th century. The blue crossed swords is perhaps the most recognizable and copied porcelain mark in the history of ceramics.
The bowl is in excellent condition; the rich gilding is an elegant contrast to the creamy white porcelain body.
Size: 13" Length by 8 ½" Width.
