This large toby jug was made by an unknown Staffordshire pottery in England in about 1860 and is entitled "The Snuff Taker". It jug stands 12" tall and is a heavy piece weighing nearly 2.5 lbs. before packaging. It is in extremely good condition for its age which just minor crazing visible on his hands, the handle and the bottom of the jug. This is a true "toby jug" as it is the full figure on the person depicted as opposed to the Character Jugs which were made famous by Royal Doulton and generally showed only the head of the figure.
