Ornate matching bracelets were customary in the 1870's-1880's, being given to the bride on her wedding, she would wear one on each wrist. Others claim that one bracelet would be given to her upon the engagement, and the other on the wedding day when they would be linked together. Whatever the case, I am pleased to offer this lovely pair of matching elaborate amethyst crystal wedding bracelets.
The set is in lovely antique condition. The bezel set amethyst crystals are fully faceted with only a few teeny flea bites that need to be seen with a loupe. They have no stamping as to gold content but appear to be gold-filled. There are no hallmarks. Each front panel is beautifully etched in a lovely Victorian design. The backs show a couple areas where there is a bit of wear, but nothing serious. The bracelets measure a bit over eight inches in length (1/2" width), weigh 65g., and close with spring-ring clasps.
I cannot say enough about this lovely pair of wedding bracelets. They hold a lovely warm rich patina, which may be seen in the photos. Please email with any questions.
