Edwardian Sterling & Glass Combo Perfume Bottle/ Powder Jar

Today I am offering one of the more unusual perfume bottles I have ever come across. It is a combination perfume and powder jar and is in excellent condition. It also has begun to turn purple, just very faintly, but in certain light you can see it. This lovely item dates to approximately 1900-1910 and appears to have never been used.

The bottom of the powder jar measures 4 inches in diameter. The top rim has no nicks, chips, or scratches. The bottom of the jar has one tiny nick that can only be felt with your finger. The jar base stands approximately 1 and 1/4 inches in height.

The lid to the jar fits perfectly on the base. It is also free of nicks, chips, and scratches. It has lovely etchings of leaves and flowers that move up to the top of the perfume well. This section measures 4 and 1/4 inches (without the bottom and perfume applicator). With the perfume applicator in place it measures approximately 5 and 1/4 inches. With all 3 pieces in place it measures approximately 6 inches.

The perfume applicator has a sterling cap and is marked "sterling". The cap has a lovely design and is free of dents and scratches. The length is 3 inches. The applicator and perfume well are free of odor or residue and again, appears to have never been used. The glass on the applicator is also free of chips, or other damage.

This is an outstanding vanity item and the purple tinge bonus makes it all the more special!
