Chinese Export Silver Filigree Turquoise & Coral Brooch/Clip

This is a beautiful Chinese brooch/clip that dates to the early 1900's. It once belonged to my mother-in-law whom passed away 12 yrs. ago at the age of 85. She was a second generation San Francisco girl who over the years developed a penchant for all things Asian. This, and several other pieces of old Chinese jewelry were recently found in a trunk that once belonged to her.

Not only is there beautiful silver filigree but the focal point is crafted of four pieces of old turquoise and one small coral cabochon. The measurements of this piece is approx. 1 and 1/2 inch by 1 and 1/8 inch. It is in good condition with some light wear commensurate with age and normal use. I imagine it was once used as a dress or scarf clip. The back of the piece is stamped "CIHNA" or what I assume should read "China". I have no idea if this holds any significance but overall it is intriguing.. The clip itself is in good condition and snaps shut..

This is a lovely piece of Chinese history. I have no idea if this was purchased many years ago in San Francisco, or perhaps China, as I do know she traveled there several times.
