Vintage 1980s Michaele Vollbracht Quilted Silk Jacket & Silk Maxi Skirt Rooster Design

I believe this was inspired by his 1981 runway collection which was called the Illogical Circus. This is from the Vollbracht Too Ready to Wear line which was introduced in 1981.

His name is imprinted in the actual silk on both the jacket and the skirt.

The labels read VollbrachToo - Size 6 - 100% Silk - Made in Korea - R.O.K. - Dry Clean Only

The full length maxi silk skirt has a huge and very colorful rooster motif. There is a subtle stripe in the silk. It is unlined and has one side pocket on the right side.

The sizing label states a size 6, it is small due to the waistline measurement. Please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Skirt:

Waist: 26" flat across from side seam to side seam

Skirt length: 45"

The jacket features the same wild rooster motif, with the body covering the back of the jacket and the rooster's head coming around to the front of the jacket on the right hand side and the rooster's foot on the top left hand side.

The jacket is fully lined in fine black wool. It is so well made that you could actually wear it on the wool side if you wanted to.

It is also sized as a 6 in the jacket pocket which is cleverly disguised at the top of the rooster's comb.

The jacket is a little difficult to measure as it is not meant to close but hang open somewhat in a loose fit over the body. Please bear in mind the measurements have been taken without closing it, simply laying flat, it is not as large as one would think with these measurements.

Condition: On the quilted jacket, there is one line of the stitching near the right shoulder which has come undone...also a little on the left side slightly lower which is undone.

This is a wonderful outfit and you cannot help but be noticed when wearing one of Vollbracht's whimsical designs.
