Vintage 30s Petit Point Needlepoint Roses Evening Bag Purse
This is a lovely vintage petit point needlework purse or evening bag featuring a detailed depiction of roses, on both sides of the purse. The frame is studded with three small rhinestones in the center and with a larger cabachon stone on either side with enamel "petals" below. The frame is made of detailed brass and has a push lever at the top and a metal pull that closes and opens the purse. The interior of the purse is lined in pink taffeta and has one built-in compartment. The purse measures 7 ½" in height and width and its carrying chain measures 6 ¼" in height - it weighs 7.6 oz. The purse is in very good, clean condition, with the exception of wear to the piping (see close-up photo) in numerous places and the three rhinestones have visible solder marks - quite noticeable in the supersized photos, but less evident under normal viewing. The needlework is very fine on this purse - really a gorgeous piece….Please click on any photo in order to enlarge.
