Vintage 60s Ivory Shantung Silk Wedding Gown Empire Style
It really is a simple high empire waisted sheath dress with a large silk overlay panel which opens at the front in pleats.
There is no label. This is a small size. Please rely on the following measurements for sizing: This one was a little difficult to measure at the bust due to its construction.
Bust – 32" when it is laid flat but it would accommodate about a 34 - 35"
Under the empire waist – 27 ½"
True Waist - 28"
Hips - 36"
Arm Hole – 6", so your upper arm measurement should be less than 12"
Length - 49"
Condition: There is a yellow underarm stain on the right underarm, it shows more on the back than at the front. The left underarm has a very pale stain.
There are four light brown stains at the front bottom of the dress. The way the dress is designed though with the panels that come over the front, if you were to stitch the panels down at the very bottom for about an inch, you would hide these marks completely.
There is also gray marking on the front of the left panel which measures about 1 ¼ inches and a much smaller one in the same vicinity.
There are two very small light brown stains on the outer panel on the left side, not that noticeable.
This is a beautiful and ever so classic wedding gown. Understated elegance!
