Vintage 60s Scotch Tweed Houndstooth Coat // 1960s Black & White Check 100% Wool Ladies Size M / L

Label: Scotch Tweed - Produced Completely in Scotland 100% Pure New Wool

Description: This is a wonderful coat made in Scotland in a black and white houndstooth-like check pattern. The coat does up the front with four plastic buttons - you could do up the neck, but that smaller button is missing, and would need to be replaced. The coat has padded shoulders and a small squared collar that is trimmed in black velvet. The cuff of each sleeve is also trimmed in a double band of velvet. The coat has a vertical pocket built into either side. The coat is fully lined in black satin.

Material: 100% Pure New Wool

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium and a smaller large size. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the coat and thickness of the fabric into account:

Shoulders: 16" across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25 1/2" long, from shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam: 17"

Bust: 44" around

Waist: 42" around, uncinched

Hips: 43" around, but meant to fall loosely

Overall length: 40", measured flat

Condition:

This coat is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors except for the lining at the right armpit, which needs some stitching. Also, the lining is short of hemline for some reason (see photo), but this shouldn't bother anyone too greatly. Otherwise, this coat was well stored and cared for over the years.

This is a very cute coat - easy to wear and sure to be noticed.....
