This is a gorgeous 1940's evening dress in aqua blue tulle with sumptuous panels of beautiful lace. The lace on the skirt is matched by a horizontal band of lace at the bust, and the tulle netting has elegant diagonal swags across the chest. Wide sheer tulle panels make the straps, leaving your arms and shoulders free. The long skirt is swishy and full of motion when you dance. Under the sheer lace is a silver blue satin under-dress.
It would make a fantastic and unusual second wedding dress!
There is no label but the design and construction are very typical of the 1940s, and this comes from an old Vermont attic find! The dress has boning in the bodice. It closes with a Talon metal zipper on the side, dyed to match the dress.
It is in very good condition, as found, with just a few light spots on the surface, as shown, hardly noticeable.
About a size Small and good for someone tall: the bust measures 34 inches, the waist measures 28, the hips are 46. The bodice length is 18 inches, the total dress length is 59 inches.
