This is an unusual Jemco bag that dates to the 1920s and is made of white metal mesh with a hand painted purple flower on both sides. The frame is gold tone metal or brass, and the fabric appears to be muslin where the mesh attaches, and silky rayon in the lining.
The purse clasp is two deco domes of molded celluloid, and the handle is a celluloid chain. The frame is signed in two places "Jemco" with a patent number.
There is light overall wear to the corners of the mesh, the lining is spotted, and the frame has some tarnish. It is in fair to good condition and still displays well overall.
It is 5.5 inches tall including the clasp, and 5.5 inches wide. The celluloid chain is 8 inches end to end.
