This is a gorgeous vintage mohair and wool plaid cape, as warm and timelessly stylish right now as when it was made. It is a pleasing palette of cherry red and midnight blue, with a hint of white in the weave. Very soft and fuzzy, the blend is 52% mohair, 48% wool, made in Scotland by Cree Mills Ltd., Galloway for Glenn Cree.
It has a pointed collar and two large square front pockets. There is one open vertical slit for each arm. It closes with a button at the throat and two large snaps down the front. Throw it on over a toasty sweater and you are cozy, look great, and are good to go for a country walk or a city drive.
It is in excellent clean condition, and has been dry cleaned. There is evidence of a skilful prior reweaving repair on the front next to the right side pocket. It is well done, the stitches are a perfect color match and hardly noticeable, the repair does not detract.
No size is specified. As a cape, without shoulder seams or sleeves, it is forgiving and will fit most figures. Natural shoulders fall at about 18 inches, bust is approximately 42-46 inches, length is 31 inches.
