This lovely sautoir style glass bead necklace is a classic 1920's flapper piece, in a brilliant tomato red. The center filigree pendant and hook clasp are brass, and each larger bead is attached to the next with brass findings, while the smaller round ones are on hand knotted cord.
It is unmarked but may possibly be Czechoslovakian. The four red cabochon-set stones on the brass ring, the flying saucer shape beads and the brass lantern shaped beads, also hint at possible Asian fashion influences in the Twenties.
It is 19 inches in total length, top to bottom; with the necklace itself being 28 inches around, and the pendant and drop beads adding 4 more inches at the bottom. The metal centerpiece is 1.5 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition.
