Van Briggle Pottery Figural Candlestick, Moonglo White
The story of the Van Briggle Pottery Company is legendary. The brilliant young Artus Van Briggle, a rising star at the prestigious Rookwood Pottery, leaves Cincinnati, with the hope that the climate of Colorado Springs would abate his failing health. With his young bride Anne Gregory by his side, and the financial support of Rookwood's founder Maria Longworth Storer, he forms the Van Briggle Pottery Company. Following Artus' death in 1904 at the age of 35, Anne Van Briggle becomes president of the company, and remained involved in its operation until her death in 1929.
