Roseville Pottery Carnelian II (Glazes) Pillow Vase #53-5, Ca. 1928
Introduced in 1926, the original production of the Carnelian line from Roseville's middle period featured various shapes covered in a tone-on-tone drip glaze of either green or tan, with other color combinations following. The Carnelian II (or "Glazes") ca. 1928 took these same shapes, often already glazed in Carnelian I colors, and re-glazed them with thick, textured matte or semi-gloss multi-colored glazes.
