Roseville's Asian-inspired "Ming Tree", a late period line introduced in 1949, was most likely developed in response to the influence of Chinese modern motifs that were gaining in popularity in the interior design of the day. The Oriental influenced line featured a bonsai-like design on freeform shapes under glossy glazes of blue, green or white, frequently accented with gnarled branch-like handles.
This lovely Ming Tree planter, #568-8 in Temple White, is in excellent condition, free from chipping, cracking or restoration, with minimal crazing.
Marked at the base with molded raised-relief "Roseville U.S.A. 568-8".
