Royal Bayreuth 7.5" Shell Water Pitcher w/Seahorse Handle

A superb and very rare Royal Bayreuth Pearlescent Shell Water Pitcher with Seahorse handle circa 1910, with gorgeous mother of pearl coloring.

Founded in 1794 in Tettau, Germany, Royal Bayreuth is the oldest privately owned Bavarian porcelain producer still in existence, with their delightful assortment of novelty figural items the most highly prized by collectors.

This wonderful and rarely seen Royal Bayreuth Shell Water Pitcher, quite likely the largest size produced in this form, is in excellent condition, with a barely detectable restoration to the top of the handle where it meets the vessel, free from all other chipping, cracking or color loss.

Marked at the base with "BAVARIA" block letter ink stamp.

H 7.5", W 6.5".
