A superb Roseville Carnelian I Wall Pocket with drip glaze, #1246-7 in green.
Introduced in 1926, the original production of this line from Roseville's middle period featured various shapes covered in a tone-on-tone drip glaze of either green or tan, with other color combinations following. The Carnelian II (or Glazes") ca. 1928 took these same shapes, often already glazed in Carnelian I colors, and re-glazed them with thick, textured matte or semi-gloss multi-colored glazes.
This Roseville Carnelian I Wall Pocket #1246-7, in dark green over turquoise ca. 1926 is in excellent condition, free from chipping, cracking, crazing or restoration. There is rusty discoloration on the backside at the top which we have not attempted to remove that is not visible from the front, and does not effect the integrity of the piece.
Marked with Roseville's "Rv" logo blue ink stamp.
H 7.5", W 5.75", D 2.25".
