Designed and produced in Czechoslovakia, this exquisite line of Bohemian glass was originally imported to England under the name "Barolac", a trademark registered in 1935 by John Jenkins & Son of London. Emulating the style of Lalique, Sabino and Etling, Barolac utilized similar finishing techniques to produce a line of quality art glass, which rivaled those esteemed French glass makers.
This beautiful clear and etched crystal paperweight is a charming depiction of a goldfinch, and is a remarkably faithful rendering of Lalique's "Chardonneret Timide" from 1931.
Condition is excellent, free from chipping or cracking, with minimal age-appropriate wear.
