Consolidated Martele' Lovebirds Vase, Tri-Color, Ca. 1926

Designed by Reuben Haley and introduced in 1926, Consolidated's Martele' line of art glass was inspired by the glorious works of Rene' Lalique featured at the 1925 Paris Exposition. Haley, who had previously been associated with Hocking and Fostoria, worked with his son Kenneth to produce the Martele' collection. An early catalog from Consolidated describes the line as combining "the skill of the artist, sculptor and glass artisan to bring out the hand wrought motifs obtained from nature's own laboratories...the sea, the sky and the land have each supplied an inspiration to the artists."

This gorgeous Consolidated Martele' Lovebirds vase is a faithful rendering of the "Perruches" vase by Rene' Lalique, and features sweet pairs of Budgies perched amid berry-laden branches, finished in vibrant orange with blue and brown accents over satin milk glass.

Condition is excellent, free from chipping or cracking, with minor age-appropriate color wear.

Marked with original "Consolidated Glass" paper label.
