When Kenneth Haley, who, with his father Reuben had created Consolidated's Martele' line of art glass in 1926, left Consolidated for the Phoenix Glass Company in 1928, he took with him 45 of the Consolidated Martele' molds, which were to become Phoenix's "Reuben Line", and the basis for their "Sculptured Artware" line of art glass. This expanded line of glass was in production by 1934, and featured new pieces and finishes.
This elusive little Phoenix Sculptured Artware vase features a thistle-like pattern with blown-out "jewel" centers, finished in vivid aqua blue highlighting over pearlized milk glass.
Condition is excellent, free from chipping, cracking or restoration.
