Phoenix Glass Sculptured Artware "Cosmos" Vase, Brown, Ca. 1936

When Kenneth Haley, who, with his father Reuben had created Consolidated's Martele' line of art glass in 1926, left Consolidated for the Phoenix Glass Company in 1928 he took with him 45 of the Consolidated Martele' molds, which were to become Phoenix's "Reuben Line", and the basis for their "Sculptured Artware" line of art glass. This expanded line of glass was in production by 1934, and featured new pieces and finishes.

This Phoenix Sculptured Artware Cosmos vase features beautiful, deeply molded blooms on sinewy stems separated by triple center bands finished with a brown wash over cameo glass.

Condition is very good, with a .5" flat chip to the inside rim edge that is virtually undetectable, and areas of age-appropriate color loss, otherwise free from chipping or cracking.

Unmarked, but guaranteed to be original, vintage Phoenix Sculptured Artware.
