This lovely Nippon ovoid vase, produced by Noritake circa 1920, features a hand painted scene in soft shades of blue, green, yellow and gold depicting a regal swan in a tranquil waterscape, flanked by high-set gold-colored sculpted handles.
Condition is excellent, free from chipping, cracking, crazing, discoloration or restoration, with age-appropriate wear to the gold accenting.
Please note that while the trim at the base is the typical gold found on these pieces, the finish at the handles and rim is a painted treatment. It is unknown if this is original to the piece, but certainly feels appropriate with the coloring of the artwork.
Marked with the green Morimura wreath backstamp used circa 1911 - 1921.
