Weller Pottery "Ardsley" Iris Bowl w/Flower Frog, Ca. 1925

The Weller Pottery of Zanesville was one of the most prolific of the Ohio Potteries, creating lines ranging from high-end art ware to functional commercial ware.

Weller's lovely "Ardsley", a middle-period line introduced in the early 1920's, features designs of cattails, lily pads and irises covered in colorful matte glazes.

This gorgeous and highly desirable Weller Ardsley console bowl and flower frog features an elegantly arched 15 hole flower frog paired with an ovalesque console bowl with wide, deeply molded rim adorned with beautifully colored iris against a rich green ground.

Condition is excellent, free from chipping, cracking or restoration, with faint overall crazing primarily visible on the bowls interior bottom and base, two 1" areas of darkened crazing to the bowls interior, and a minuscule production firing line at a stem hole to the underside of the flower frog.

Unmarked, but guaranteed to be original, vintage Weller Pottery.

Flower frog H 5.5", base 4.25" x 3.5" Bowl H 2", W 9", L 14.5"
