Roseville Pottery Moderne Vase #787-6, Pink, Ca. 1936

Roseville's stylish Moderne, a middle period line introduced in 1936, features classically inspired shapes and soft matte or semi-gloss glazes of "Azurine" blue, "Faience" turquoise, or, as in this example, "Patina" pink, enhanced with delicate abstract ornamentation. Today, Moderne is nearly as sought after as Roseville's Futura line by lovers of Art Deco, and its popularity is on the rise.

This marvelous Moderne vase, with embossed Deco motif on a perfectly balanced form, is covered in a subtle semi-matte glaze of ivory with rosy highlighting, and is in excellent condition, free from cracking or crazing, with a repaired 5mm flat chip to the unglazed foot ring that is nearly imperceptible.

Marked with die-impressed "Roseville 787-6".

H 5.25", W 4.25", rim 3", base 2.5".
