Franklin Mint 1957 Chrysler 300C Convertible

"Throughout its 47 year history, the Franklin Mint's gifted artists and artisans have built a reputation based firmly on an uncompromising commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a vibrant spirit of innovation that continues to set industry standards. The fruits of their talents are evident in every creation that bears the company's prestigious mintmark."

To classic car lovers, few model car manufacturers can match the quality and detail of The Franklin Mint's die cast replicas. With features like fully functioning steering, opening doors, hood and trunk, and cloth and vinyl accents, it's evident why The Franklin Mint's die cast replicas command attention by avid collectors.

The original Chrysler 300 "letter series" were high-performance luxury cars built in very limited numbers by the Chrysler Corporation from 1955-1965. Each year's model used a new letter of the alphabet as a suffix, reaching 300L by 1965.

The 300 series were among the vehicles built with the focus on performance by domestic U.S. manufacturers after World War II, and were the predecessors to the "muscle cars" of the 60's and 70's, though significantly more expensive and exclusive. The 1957 300C is generally considered the classic year of the 300 "letter series". New styling was brought in, with a yawning front grille and fins; the 6.4 litre Hemi engine was upgraded to 392 cubic inches and produced a screaming 375 hp. A convertible model was available for the first time, with less than 500 produced. The car featured a number of distinctive red, white, and blue "300C" medallions on the sides, hood, trunk and interior.

This superb die cast replica, produced by The Franklin Mint in 1998, perfectly captures the luxury and performance of the original 300C, in 1:24 scale. Finished in sleek black paint with ivory interior, this gorgeous replica is in wonderful condition, and features a removable roof, highly detailed engine, folding front seat backs, opening hood and doors, and carpeted trunk with full-sized spare (remember those?). Does not include original box or paperwork.
