Franklin Mint 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Ltd. Ed., MIB!

"Throughout its 47 year history, the Franklin Mint's gifted artists and artisans have built a reputation based firmly on an uncompromising commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a vibrant spirit of innovation that continues to set industry standards. The fruits of their talents are evident in every creation that bears the company's prestigious mintmark." To classic car lovers, few model car manufacturers can match the quality and detail of The Franklin Mint's die cast replicas. With features like fully functioning steering, opening doors, hood and trunk, and cloth and vinyl accents, it's evident why The Franklin Mint's die cast replicas command attention by avid collectors.

The Type 57S/SC is one of the best-known Bugatti cars. The "S" stood for "surbaissé" or "lowered", though most felt it stood for "sport". It included a v-shaped dip at the bottom of the radiator and mesh grilles on either side of the engine compartment. Just two supercharged Type 57SC cars were built new, but most 57S owners wanted the additional power afforded by the blower. Therefore, most of the original Type 57S cars returned to the factory for the installation of a supercharger, pushing output from 175 hp to 210 hp and topping out at a dizzying 120 mph! The Type 57SC is also the most expensive car ever purchased at auction, when an anonymous bidder spent an estimated 30 million dollars.

This superb die cast replica produced by The Franklin Mint, #2171 in a limited edition of 3000 worldwide, perfectly captures the opulence and prestige of the original Type 57SC, in 1:24 scale. Finished in exotic two-tone yellow over black paint with rich camel interior, this gorgeous and highly detailed replica is in mint condition and features opening hood, doors, carpeted interior, and storage area which opens to reveal the limited edition plate. Includes original packaging with paperwork, handling gloves, name plate and certificate of authenticity. The cardboard outer box shows some wear.
