Rookwood Pottery Animal Figural, Leopard, 1924

A superb and hard to find Rookwood production ware figural Leopard, designed by William McDonald circa 1921 and produced in 1924.

This marvelous depiction of a sleek Leopard or Panther is covered in Rookwood's rare Nubian Black glaze flecked with silver, and is in excellent condition, free from chipping, cracking or crazing, with a nearly imperceptible minor restoration to the right front paw and a pinhead-sized glaze nick to the outside edge of the right rear paw.

Marked with a faintly impressed Rookwood flame mark, XXIV (1924), and shape #2563.
