I think this trinket box is Austrian and dates to the early part of the 20th c. It's a mark I can't find, but is close to an Austrian mark that dates to the Art Nouveau era or a late 19th c. Serbian mark. It is also signed by the maker (initials F.S). The box is made of Ivory, Sterling (or Continental) Silver, and Cobalt Blue Guilloche Enamel. The rim is beautifully engraved all around with leaves and pansies, and the inner rim around the enamel is also beautifully worked. The centerpiece is gorgeous. In the middle of the enamel, there's a jewel-like silver pierced piece, with another enamel "button" in the middle. The bottom is solid silver. The inside of the lid has a silk pad. Condition is very good. No breaks, cracks, chips, or any noticeable damage. There were once probably tiny nails that held the silver rims in place, but they stay in place anyway even though I don't see any nails. The silver could use a bit of polishing. The box closes securely. It measures 3 1/10" in diameter and is 1" high.
