Beautifully rendered miniature on ivory of woman in blue dress with upswept hair. It is signed Paillet 1900 on the left. Paillet (Fernand, Paris, 1850-1918) decorated Sevres vases from 1879 to 1888, and is represented by about 115 miniatures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is framed in a gorgeous period gilded wood frame, with wax seals on back of opened paper back. Everything in great condition. The frame has a few tiny chips in the gilt, but hardly worth mentioning. The portrait sight size is 2" X 1 1/4". The frame measures 4 1/4" X 3 1/2". Glass is perfect.
