Exquisite Mid-Victorian Portrait on Ivory of 2 Children Praying (in original case)

This painting is truly inspiring. The children are enchanting, and the subject matter is out of the ordinary. These two little angels are praying to the heavens, with their big eyes looking upward. Their curly hair makes them all the more angelic. The are painted with watercolor on an ivory wafer and set into a red paper covered case with hinge and claw clasp. There is silk fabric on the inside of the left-side door of the case. The glass is convex and comes out, but I didn't dare try to remove the miniature, which is securely under the velvet rim (I didn't want to force it). The miniature is in excellent condition, as is the glass. The case has some paper scraped off here and there, and the silk interior is stained. Nothing terrible. And the case closes well. The miniature measures 1 1/2" X just over 2 1/4".
