An exquisite piece, it dates from the late 19th century and originates from Paris.
This beautifully designed example has seven stars in a semi circle. At the center of each star is a blue glass stone. Clear glass stones fill in the star shapes with three ruby red stones forming a flower shape between each star. At the front center is a rosette medallion with a large blue glass stone surrounded by clear stones. A very intricate scrolling design creates a band to either side of the rosette. The bottom band is delicately cut to reveal an intricate scrolling pattern. Nine sapphire blue glass stones are intermixed into this design.
All stones are bezel set in this piece. The tiara/crown hooks in the back and is adjustable. The measurements are:2 3/4" tall at the center. 4" in diameter across the bottom band, 2" tall at either end at the last star.
It has survived in very good condition, with no missing stones.
