So very elegant with delicate hand painted flowers inside and out, it is accented with very fine bronze doré mounts. It has a Sevres? mark (we were unable to find the exact date in the thousand of marks which were used but the mark is very much in keeping with Sevres pieces, as is the very fine style and workmanship).
It has an elegant elongated oval shape. The porcelain base is white and the outer band painted with the most delicate design. Swags of pink roses, bluebells and green leaves swing from hand painted (raised) gilt cartouche and rosebuds. Below the single gilt roses are mirror images which have been hand painted. There is a wide, deep turquoise band at the top just under the top mount.
The interior has a 1/2" wide band of green leaves and dots at the top. Four pink roses ornament the sides and three are placed in a line across the bottom. The bronze doré mounts are finely patterned with leaves and dots. There are four wide feet which have flowers across the middle. The base of the piece has been left unglazed and bears the Sevres? style mark.
It measures: 5" across, 3" deep and 2 3/8" tall. It is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips, no visible loss to the painted or gilt designs.
It is an exceptional piece, both in beauty and fineness of manufacture.
