This perfect bisque socket head doll was made by Simon and Halbig for Heinrich Handwerck. Her head is incised Germany// HH // S&h // 2/0. Her body is fully jointed and retains it's original finish.There is a craze crack on both forearms and a 1/16th inch chip in the paint on her left forearm next to her wrist.Her brown eyes sleep,have painted upper and lower lashes , her brows are feathered and her ears are pierced. There is a TINY, [1/32'' in diameter], ding in the bisque near her left temple that was is the making and I am seeing for the first time.Her stringing is loose but original.Her long human hair wig is braided.
Her fabulous regional costume is sewn on and has never been removed. Her cotton socks still have the thread tied at her knee to hold her socks in place.Her oilcloth shoes are incised 0 on the toe. There is slight melting on the gathers of her red apron.She is missing the ribbon on one braid.
