This 18888 Guide Joanne comes right of the Grand Tour! It takes you back to a time when travel for the winter was all the rage. A time when elevators and baths were a novelty in a hotel, much advertised and the cost of a room was 8 FFr, including three meals! If you read a bit of French, this book is a real step back in time! It provides a lot of conversation of how far we have really come in 115 years, and how many things are still the same. There are lots of maps of towns in Provence, including Nice, Marseilles, Lyon, as well as regional and topographical maps. 420 pages and 65 pages of advertisements.
The book is in good condition with a repair to the spine and a few pages that are almost loose. There is some toning, but no odor, spots or writing.
