Fabulous Watercolor of a Young Lady in a Blue Dress
This gorgeous piece is from the Avignon region in Southern France. The image is of a young lady in a bright blue dress with a yellow shawl. She is holding a small bunch of flowers in her hand. This painting came together with a carefully folded newspaper, no date but it looks like from the late 20's. In the newspaper is an article about Jean Dennery, who played the piano in a recital. Some research shows us that Jean Dennery was a movie actress and pianist in France in 1928, where she has played in 3 movies. It could be her. No photo was found. The painting is signed with a pair of initials, ED. The piece is very well executed and is beautifully framed and matted. It is ready to hang.
Measurements are: 21" by 18 with frame, 11 ½" by 8 ½' sight size.
