Antique French Coquillor, Beurrier, butter pat dish

This piece was found on our last trip to France. Introducing "Le Beurrier" to your table will get attention: this is a French tool, meant to be presented at the table with the butter coming up through the slots in the shape of shells. It makes for a very nice presentation on a buffet or fancy dinner table. I have tried it and the trick is to have the butter just at the right temperature to push through and stay in the shell shape. Then when it is on the table you will get a lots of comments on how unique it looks! The piece is hallmarked JP and 8, no other marks on it. Measurements are: diameter is 6 1/8", height is 2". I will include a print out of a French description of this piece and how to use it, with its translation.
