Hand colored engraving “The Serpent Eater” dated 1803

This fabulous engraving is done after a painting by J. Lebrecht Reinold. It is called The Serpent Eater. Marked at the top with Falco, and at the bottom it says J. Reinold del, also London, Published as the Act directs, Oct 8, 1803 by J. Wilkes. The engraving is hand colored and has great appeal. It is matted in a new acid free coffee colored mat. The print itself has been folded in the past and the lines are still visible. Otherwise the print is in very good condition, with only very slight toning and no foxing. Measurements are : sight size 10" by 8", overall mat is 14" by 11".
