This photo frame dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a wood frame with paper mache covering, a silver insert and a wire back. The piece is unusual in that it has 2 velvet covered shutters to close over the picture. The photo is of Charles H. Scoville, 1859 – 1938. He looks like a self-assured man about town dressed in a suit and a shaco in his hand. The back of the frame slides out to replace the photo. The stand is shaped of a wire. The frame is in good vintage condition with fading and wear to the velvet and one of the hinges has been repaired. Measurements are: 8" by 6" and 1" deep.
