Antique Napoleon III Bronze and Cast Iron Key

This Napoleon III key has a mystery attached to it: where does it belong?? It consists of a cast iron shaft and a bronze eagle finial. It is in good condition with some discoloration to the top part of the shaft where it may have been re-soldered. The piece measures 3" long and the eagle is 1" in diameter.
