This first edition of G.I Laughs has been copied many times. It is hard to find a real first edition in this good shape. It is written by the well known pulp author Harold Hersey. Hersey was the founder of the "Good Story Magazine Company", which was a success for a while. He continued to write stories until the company failed during the Depression years and he had to sell his holdings.
This book is a compilation of army humor, made all the more funny by the drawings of the service men themselves. It gives a fun insight into what was on the minds of those boys near the end of WW II. `
This book is very rare in its original edition. I did not even find it mentioned in the Wikipedia biography. But here it is. It is in good used condition: binding is good with some yellowing to the paper. There is a presentation note on the front fly page. No other writing. A great present for a well loved G.I.
