Small Antique, Ornate French Wood and Gesso Mirror
This is such a nice piece, I almost decided to keep it. But, here it is! The mirror is in an unusual shape, almost like an upside down tear drop! The frame is just amazing. It is gesso over wood and has an area inside the bands of gold of a faint green color, which makes the gold stand out even more. The mirror is in good shape and may be a later edition. The frame is from around 1900 and has had numerous repairs and touch ups. It is stable and still displays a few cracks, all consistent with a 100 year plus piece.
This piece is the perfect fit for a narrow wall that can use a bit of extra spark. This mirror draws attention to itself and the space surrounding it. It measures 25" tall and 12" wide with the frame, the mirror is 15" by 9".
