This Napoleon III style parcel gilt wall mirror dates to the early 20th century. It was made in Italy and is gesso on wood. It has the Napoleonic doves and scepter and quiver, as well as rich foliation down each side. The actual mirror is a later addition and is in excellent condition. The frame is also in very good condition, with some minor damage to the back part of the top freeze (it is out of sight and just some missing paint). The paint of the background is aged and has a patina as can be soon in the pictures, it is part of the piece and I have left it unaltered. This is a sizable mirror, one that will look great in an entry way or over a mantle. It adds light and dimension to a space as well as being a great focal point. Measurements are: 48" tall and 28" wide, including the frame.
